PrestoSQL Trino Connector

The connector for PrestoSQL Trino allows data sources connected to PrestoSQL Trino to be cataloged, queried, transformed and more. This can be used to quickly and easily join data between different systems.


The PrestoSQL Trino connector is available for all Promethium editions, including Free (coming soon), Professional and Enterprise.


Note, PrestoSQL was renamed Trino in December 2020.

Connect PrestoSQL Trino

Connecting to PrestoSQL Trino is fast and easy. Simply click Data Sources from the menu, then click + New Data Source. Select Presto and enter the information for your PrestoSQL Trino.

PrestoSQL Trino connection details can be case sensitive. Ensure that data is entered with the correct case for your PrestoSQL Trino.

Data Source Name

Give the PrestoSQL Trino connection a unique name for easy identification.

Description

Optional. A meaningful description for this connection.

Host Name

Enter the host name or IP address for your PrestoSQL Trino database. For example: db.company.com

DB Port

Enter the port number for your PrestoSQL Trino.

User Name

​Enter the username associated with your PrestoSQL Trino account.

Password

Enter the password associated with your PrestoSQL Trino account.

Catalog Name

Enter the PrestoSQL Trino catalog name.

Schema Name

What Happens Next - Finish PrestoSQL Trino Connection

Click the Connect button then select schemas. After successful connection and schema selection Promethium will automatically crawl and catalog data in your PrestoSQL Trino, then make the data easily searchable and usable.


Click Data Explorer from the menu and begin exploring the data in your PrestoSQL Trino.
